We’ve been bringing you all the latest news about our epic new Ben 10 game, Wrath of Psychobos, and now we decided to get you some information straight from the source—the game studio that’s building Wrath of Psychobos with us.
Since this game is going to be so enormous, we knew we needed a studio who had experience working on huge games. So Cartoon Network partnered with Aquiris, the studio that built DreamWorks Dragons: Wild Skies. Here’s Ed Lago, game designer from Aquiris Game Studio, to give you some behind-the-scenes info about Wrath of Psychobos.
Ed: Hello, guys! Today I want to share a bit of our work for this game, and the goals we set out to achieve for the release. First of all, the team watched a lot of Omniverse episodes and played a lot of other Ben 10 games to find out what makes Ben 10 so much fun to watch and play.
We learned that the adventurous spirit of the show is one of the main things that makes Ben so cool, so Wrath of Psychobos will be a huge adventure game where you’ll be in control of Ben and his partner, Rook Blonko. You’ll be able to explore and use all their skills, powers and strengths, including a bunch of Ben’s aliens and Rook’s Proto-Tool weapons.
For players who know the show, you’ll recognize a lot of cool elements from actual episodes, such as classic environments and infamous villains. But the game will also present a lot of different places and characters we created specifically for this game. Prepare to explore alien planets and face challenging enemies both new and old.
I don’t want to spoil everything we’re doing for this game, but another fun feature I wanted to share with you is how the game benefits from randomization. The levels in the game have some randomly generated elements, so they’ll always feel new, no matter how many times you play them. You might play through the same level again, but this time, instead of a simple puzzle, you might need to fight off a big wave of enemies. So when you jump into this game, you’d better be prepared, because anything can happen! But don’t worry too much. You won’t be alone on this adventure, since you can always count on Azmuth for help, even if he’s sometimes grumpy about it. You’ll be able to get all kinds of upgrades and useful stuff from him in the game.
Our team is working really hard to make something awesome for all the Ben 10 fans out there, and I hope everybody will enjoy playing the game when it comes out. Just a little while longer, and it’s HERO time!
What are you looking forward to the most in Wrath of Psychobos?
