Why am I being asked to log in?

We just need to make sure you have a current TV subscription. Ask an adult if you need help finding your username and password—it should be the same info you use to log in to your TV provider's website.


What do I get for logging in?

You'll get to watch Cartoon Network live TV and the latest full episodes of your favorite Cartoon Network shows.


Is it free?

Yes! The service is free with your TV subscription and is made available through participating TV providers.


What's a "TV Provider?"

TV providers are the companies that send the signal to your television through cable, satellite or fiber optic delivery. Some examples of participating providers include AT&T U-verse, Comcast, DirecTV and Verizon.


I already get Cartoon Network on my TV. Does that mean I can use this app?

Yes, as long as your TV provider is on the list of participating providers.


What if my TV provider isn't on the list?

We're always adding new providers, so check back soon, or contact your TV provider and ask them to take part.


What if my TV provider and Internet provider aren't the same? Which do I use to log in to this service?

You log in with your TV provider info.


How are my username and password being used?

Your username and password are only used by your TV provider according to their privacy policy. Cartoon Network has no access or control over that info, so you don't have to worry about us ever sending you spam emails.


I forgot my username and/or password. What should I do?

Your TV provider should be able to assist you with your username and/or password.


What if I have other problems logging in to the app?

Ask an adult for help logging in. If you continue to have problems, please contact your TV provider directly.



VIDEO/TV

When is the live TV stream available?

The East Coast live TV stream is available from 6am to 9pm EST, and it follows the programming schedule for the Eastern Time Zone.

The West Coast live TV stream is available from 6am to 9pm PST, and it follows the programming schedule for the Pacific Time Zone.


The video playback is stopping or stalling. What's wrong?

You may have a problem with your Internet connection. We also recommend closing any other apps you may have open on your device.


When I try to watch video, sometimes I just get the sound and no picture. Why is that?

Our video player tries to match the quality of the video stream to the strength of your Internet connection. If your bandwidth is low or your connection is spotty, you might receive a stream with just the sound. This is a dynamic function, so your video stream should improve as soon as your connection improves.



THE MIX

What is the Mix?

The Mix is your personal video feed, customized just for you! As you tell us your favorite shows and rate videos, the Mix will learn what you like and what you don't like. Basically, the more videos you watch and rate, the better your Mix will become!


When I rate videos, how does that affect my Mix?

Any time you give something a thumbs-up rating, we'll add more of that to your Mix. But if you give it a thumbs-down rating, we'll put less of it in your Mix. Over time, the Mix will figure out your tastes, and before you know it, it'll be full of all your favorite stuff!


Why do I sometimes see things in my Mix that I didn't choose?

The Mix is mostly made up of your favorite shows, but from time to time we'll throw in other things we think you might like, whether it's a show similar to your favorites or a brand-new show premiering for the first time. Any time you don't like something in your Mix, you can skip it and/or give a thumbs-down rating.




TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Does the Cartoon Network app have any software requirements?

The Cartoon Network app requires iOS 7.0 and above, so please make sure you are running the most current software on your device. This app is not supported by the 1st generation iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad devices.


Do I need to be connected to the Internet to use this app?

Yes. You need a high-speed Internet connection.




CLOSED CAPTIONING

How do I turn on closed captioning in this app?

To use closed captions in this app, simply tap the video while it's playing. If the video is closed caption enabled, you'll see a button labeled "CC." Tap the "CC" button to turn closed captions on, and tap the "CC" button again to turn closed captions off.


Why aren't there captions in a particular video I accessed through this app?

Turner Broadcasting System, Inc. is actively working to expand closed captioning of its online video programming, including full compliance with all relevant FCC implementation timelines. More information about the FCC’s online closed captioning requirements and timelines can be found here.


Please note that certain software and equipment may not support closed captions at this time. Turner continues to work with its technology and distribution partners to enable this support wherever possible.
